Preparation
No prior preparation is required. However participants are invited to
read the book 'Serious Creativity' by Edward de Bono if they wish to.
Objectives
- equip participants with solid practical methods for challenging current thinking
- harness their creativity so that it works for them, when they need it
- solve problems and generate new ideas from a fresh perspective
- produce new ideas
- innovate
LATERAL THINKING IS ABOUT CHANGING CONCEPTS AND PERCEPTIONS. CERTAIN
PROBLEMS DO NOT NEED AN INJECTION OF BETTER LOGIC IN ORDER TO SOLVE
THEM; SOMETIMES IT IS NECESSARY TO SHIFT OUR ATTENTION TO APPROACH THE
PROBLEM FROM A NEW PERSPECTIVE. IN AN INCREASINGLY COMPETITIVE WORLD,
TRADITIONAL METHODS OF PROBLEM SOLVING CAN ONLY TAKE US SO FAR. WE NEED
TO GO BEYOND PROBLEM SOLVING;WE NEED TO GENERATE NEW CONCEPTS AND NEW
WAYS OF DOING THINGS. IT IS EVEN BETTER WHEN WE CAN LEARN TO DO SO ON
DEMAND, INSTEAD OF JUST HOPING TO STUMBLE ON AN INNOVATIVE IDEA.
LATERAL THINKING AND SERIOUS CREATIVITY WILL EQUIP ARTICIPANTS WITH
SOLID PRACTICAL METHODS FOR CHALLENGING CURRENT THINKING. PARTICIPANTS
WILL FIND OUT HOW TO HARNESS THEIR OWN CREATIVITY SO THAT IT CAN WORK
FOR THEM. WHENEVER THEY NEED IT. THEY WILL LEARN HOW TO SOLVE PROBLEMS
AND GENERATE NEW IDEAS TO MEET THE CHALLENGES OF THE NEW MILLENIUM.
CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION ARE TODAY THE ONLY ENGINES THAT WILL DRIVE
LASTING GLOBAL SUCCESS.
